JAUNTY FLIGHT 3:20 Perth Back at 3.5 or more
Up against some dubious rivals the safe jumping mare Jaunty Flight looks a decent bet to improve her excellent strike rate over fences - she's won twice from three starts, including once over this trip, and her only defeat came at 2M, a trip much too short for her. With Lodge Lane having thrown away a golden opportunity last week, The Market Man far from certain to relish this sharp right-handed track and Pop having jumping and stamina problems, I doubt if Jaunty Flight will have to improve to hold every chance here. The one question mark is the ground, as she's only won on soft, but if connections are sending her all the way to Perth, I presume they must be happy with conditions.
CASUAL AFFAIR 5:05 Perth Back at 3.8 or more
This really is a dire race and any support for the hurdling newcomers Buchanty Spout and Oconnells Pike would be of interest, but on previous form, Casual Affair stands out for local trainer Sue Bradburne. He's shown he can handle a sharp right-handed track with his runs at Musselburgh and he's met some useful types by the standards of this race in his four placed efforts over hurdles. He won on fast ground on the flat, so conditions here should be fine and his rivals from the bigger stables need to improve plenty if he puts in a clear round.
