LAVENDER TRACK 2:10 Fontwell Back at 2.1 or more

Lavender Track won twice in bumpers and scored with a bit to spare on her recent hurdling debut, so it's clear she has an excellent attitude and that's half the battle in these mares only races. She jumped OK for a beginner at Taunton and with normal improvement should be capable of scoring here under a penalty for a stable in fantastic form at present. Main rival Call Me A Legend also won last time at Huntingdon, but her jumping didn't inspire confidence and she went very markedly away to her right at the last two hurdles. I'm not convinced she'll be comfortable round this sharp left-handed track and would rather take her on.

INDEFENSIBLE 5:05 Fontwell Lay at 2.0 or less

An increasingly common scenario, with an easy winner making a quick reappearance before the handicapper can react. Indefensible won by 14L on Monday at Plumpton, so what reason could there be for opposing him off the same mark today? The first is his jumping, which wasn't fluent and featured two fairly serious mistakes, the second is the longer trip, an extra six furlongs this time and this distance of 3M 3F really tests stamina and the third is the possibility that Monday's race was not that good as the time was slow and the fact that the horse started 14/1 suggests his win was a surprise to the stable, who would usually be active in the market.
