Saturday Racing Find out what top pro-punter Alan Potts is backing or laying today.
Sayif has much the best form in this Listed contest, having been placed in the Group 1 Middle Park last time and in three Group 2 races prior to that. There will be plenty of layers prepared to take the view that Sayif is a professional loser from a stable that has had a fairly miserable season, but although Chapple-Hyam has only had 8 juvenile winners this season, 6 of those have come in the last two months and they are in much better form now than in midsummer. There are no holes in the form of the races that Sayif has contested and he's beaten better horses than he faces this afternoon - I make him a 1/2 chance. PRIDE OF DULCOTE 4:35 Chepstow Back at 2.1 or more From a 6F Listed race to a 3M maiden hurdle - such is the delightful variety on offer today! Pride Of Dulcote must be one of the few horses in the Nicholls yard to run five times last season without winning, but when given a test of stamina, he looked a decent novice. He was let down by his jumping twice, particularly in a race at Taunton where he was contesting the lead when he fell at the last. Here he takes on a bunch of horses that have shown potential in bumpers or point to points, but his experience should prove decisive given a clear round and there's some evidence that a left-handed track is best for him.
