Triple Champion Hurdle winning jockey Steve Smith Eccles previews the action.

The John Gosden two year olds have been flying all year and Party Frock (Lingfield 3.50) has finished second on both her outings to date; at Newbury in a seven furlong maiden, when sent off the 6/4 jolly, and then when running into the potentially very smart Godolphin colt Mutheeb over course and distance last time out. Since then she has been putting in some eye-catching work on the home gallops here in Newmarket and should have little difficulty in taking this race with main market rival Pivka looking decidedly one-paced.

At Leicester the Newmarket dogs are barking about Bounty Box, in the 1.30, who has had two runs to date; a third on her debut at Yarmouth when beaten half a length and a neck by Aakef then in a much better maiden at Newmarket when leading two out before staying on at the one pace to finish fourth behind decent sorts Archie Rice and Winged Harriet. A reproduction of that run should see her go close but I have heard she has improved again at home and, having been apprentice ridden on both previous outings, she now has the excellent Ted Durcan in the saddle.

Swiss Diva (4.00) was given an educational introduction to racing on Newmarket’s July course when seventh of eleven behind Rose Diamond four months ago and then came back to run a blinder when third, only beaten a length and a half and a neck, behind the highly regarded Run For The Hills. Reported to have needed the run after blowing up inside the final furlong, she is sure to strip fitter this afternoon and should take all the beating against what looks like lesser opposition today.
