Eddie ‘The Shoe’ Fremantle brings us his exclusive plays of the day...

Some tricky handicaps at Brighton today and in the 3.05 much depends on the fitness or otherwise of Peter Island and Our Fugitive, both coming back off breaks. In a race that is likely to be run at a breakneck pace with several front-runners, it could pay to be behind the pace. Best held up when with Clive Brittain was Best One and he should do well if dropped in early, while Multahab was once a trailblazer but looks as though he is being taught to take more time since joining Michael Wigham. They are the pair I am interested in but this is a very difficult affair.

In the 5.25, we have lost a runner taking out the fourth place. That is unfortunate but I will still be looking for an improved showing from Charming Ballet with the blinkers back on on only his third run for Gary Moore. Well handicapped on last season's best form, Charming Ballet shaped all right at Yarmouth last time from a poor draw. Turkish Sultan can be given the same excuse for a poor run two outings ago and did not do that badly at Nottingham last time. With Ross Atkinson taking 7lb off and the blinkers on, he should not be left out of calculations, although his stable has slipped quickly into the doldrums again.
