You don't have to be Nostradamus to visualise the way the Wolverhampton 1.20 will pan out. Wibbadune (drawn 1) and Triskaidekaphobia (drawn 3) will attempt to make every post a winning one leaving Mickleberry to sit on their hind quarters and pick them up in the straight.

Of course life is rarely that simple, but Mickleberry still rates a decent bet. Wibbadune won an awful maiden last time and, although that will have done her confidence no harm at all, she should be found wanting back in handicap company. Triskaidekaphobia is likely to make a bold bid from the front to make it two wins on the bounce but consistency has never been his strong point and Mickleberry looks the more reliable option. Drawn in the car park last time, this James Bethell trained filly had to be dropped in before making good late headway and, with a more favourable draw today, I can't see her being far away.

Lobengula bids for a five timer in the 2.50 and, although an uncontested lead is the biggest certainty of the day, there could be mileage in opposing him with Hoh Wotanite who himself is bidding for a four timer. He only got home by a neck last time but picked up off a slow pace to finish very strongly in the manner of a horse that is still well-handicapped. He should give the short-priced favourite something to think about.
