The Zetland Gold Cup is the highlight at Redcar and I can’t look any further than the likely favourite Hassaad. This one is on a very big upward curve based on his fluent success at Ascot last time where he beat sixteen runners home in a competitive handicap.

That was a massive step up in form on his previous efforts and there can be little doubt that this recently gelded horse is definitely improving fast. The rain might be a problem if it comes, but the Danehills can go on slower ground, and I think this horse is potentially so well-in here that it might not matter if he’s not at his absolute best in the conditions. Back him today.

Later on the card Karlani looks a very solid bet. This one ran a blinder on Saturday when only just touched off in similar race. These don’t look so difficult to beat, and I think he’s the obvious form choice here.

Over at Chepstow, I think the promising Caucasienne can go in at a decent price. This one lost out to Spring Dream on Saturday, but I didn’t think she had the run of the race that day, and on better terms I think she can turn the tables. There’s plenty of improvement to come, and I think she’ll progress past these today.

Be lucky, and may all your bets be winning ones….
